New hybrid technology in the SLXi Hybrid refrigeration units

In November 2017 Thermo King presented a new, innovative refrigeration trailer named SLXi Hybrid, which features a unique combination of two technologies, both from Thermo King and Frigoblock, unveiled at the IAA 2016 show. This new solution allows for perfect combination of ecological and ecological methods in refrigeration transport.

The SLXi Hybrid unit features Frigoblock EnviroDrive system – a separate generator attached to the engine of a truck, and a circuit with a variable frequency drive (VFD). Their main task is to ensure permanent power supply to the unit and operation of the unit both when on the road and during loading/unloading procedure (with the three-phase power available and without the truck’s engine on). Which, in turn, does not increase the air pollution in the cities or storage halls.

Thanks to this solution, the transport companies become more flexible in their operation. The truck’s diesel engine can be started in any moment, according to the needs, with the refrigeration unit being always and fully independent.
